Teri Simmons With Renewed Faith
Tragedy can sometimes lead to joy, and that
the case in the birth of the gospel group, "Teri Simmons With Renewed Faith".
Formed by Simmons in 1988 with a double handful of choir-involved friends in the wake of a
devastating fire which had destroyed her family entire home and possessions, this
sweet-sounding group saw her first through that tragedy, and has gone on since to
ever-greater things.
First, the mass choir for Project HOPE, a collective group from East Bay churches that
raised funds to feed the needy on Thanksgiving and Christmas of 1988, the group soon began
performing at other churches, colleges, and community events, such as Foothill
College Black History program in 1994, and the University of San Francisco
successful gospel program in 1995.
Now comes the release of "Use Me Your
Way", Teri Simmons With Renewed Faiths first album-length recording; thirteen
full, rich songs of praise and joy. Gentle, comforting, inviting and balladic, the sound
of Renewed Faith balances soul gospel and traditional inspirational music, calm with a
pinch of spice, and lots of variation from song to song. All songs are Simmons
originals and feature inspired messages. Throughout "Im Still Looking Forward
to that Day", " Be Ye Not Dismayed", "He Shall Supply My Needs"
and "Nothing Can Separate Me". Hope and inspiration pour like honey through
these choral songs and sweeten the lives of live audiences and home listeners alike.
